Anonymous asked: if you don't eat animals because they are living things, why do you keep eating plants? because they are living things as well. besides God created other living things for us humans. don't get me wrong, but if you realy think about it, do you just sort of following Ben's steps of becoming a vegetarian? clearly you are heavily influenced by him. (im not beefing here, im just asking)

Haha, first of all, I didn’t become a vegetarian because of Ben. I had a long conversation with a Buddhist friend during my Vipassana Meditation Retreat and it really really enlightened me. Besides, Ben had already become a vegetarian long before I decided to become one. I even still ate meat when he started to live a life as a vegetarian, because I didn’t experience the enlightenment he experienced during his Vipassana retreat. Therefore his reality was not my reality at that time. Nonetheless, if you insist that I am heavily influenced by him, I can’t say no. He has been and will always be one of the biggest influences in my life, and I ain’t see no harm in that, anonymous, cause he’s a great guy! :p

Secondly, I didn’t say that the reason I don’t eat animals is because they are living things, I don’t even think I have explicitly explained the foundational reasons of me becoming a vegetarian here in my blog (cause I see no importance in doing so).

The thing is, not all people are on the same page when it comes to our view on animals & especially on hurting animals for the sake of our happiness, and up until now, I have no intention whatsoever to influence and force others to believe in the things I have faith in, including vegetarianism.

But since there’s so many questions asking about my choice of becoming a vegetarian, my answer is real simple:

If we can hurt less, why choose to hurt more?
